Celebrating the Arts 🎨 🎭

Dear Neighbor,

While I've been busy in Springfield, my staff has spent the month connecting with arts organizations across our district. We've learned how they've been adapting to the ongoing pandemic and how we can all continue to support and uplift the important work they do for our community.

The Northwest Side is rich with arts institutions and cultural capital. I feel lucky to represent a district that has cultivated such a diverse arts scene from the ground up.

I encourage you to check out some of the amazing institutions we've met with this month. You can engage with a theatrical performance for the whole family at Filament Theater, hear cutting edge music at Elastic Arts, visit a gallery at the Hairpin Arts Center or attend a Cuerdas Clásicas concert as part of the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance Desde mi Barrio Concert Series.

To learn about ongoing open studio days and other ways to engage with the arts community here on the NW Side I encourage you to check out Northwest Arts Connection and AnySquared

These are just a few of the many theaters, organizations, and art collectives in our community.

We can all support the arts by seeing a show, attending a concert, participating in an art swap, and more!

Take care,

Will
