Mortgage Assistance Opening in April 🏡
Dear Neighbors,
We know that the COVID-19 has only exacerbated the ongoing housing crisis happening in our state and across the country.
Since 2020, Illinois has delivered emergency rental assistance to nearly 110,100 households, providing tenants the critical support they needed to help overcome the devastation of the pandemic. Here in the 39th District, over $3 million has been distributed to tenants in need.
But we know the effects of the pandemic are not only felt by renters. Homeowners have also experienced financial hardship, and we know that many of our neighbors need help catching up on their mortgage and property tax payments.
Starting next month, Illinois homeowners who have struggled to pay their mortgage due to COVID-19 will be able to apply for grants of up to $30,000 to eliminate or reduce past-due mortgage and property tax payments. Click here to learn more >>
Applications will only be open for a short period of time, so if you need to apply for assistance, please contact our office right away.
