Winter Resources and Services ❄️

Dear Neighbor,

As the colder weather sets in as well as the season of giving back, I wanted to use this week’s newsletter to share a variety of winter resources to help keep those in our communities warm and safe.

Emergency Heating Repair Program
The City of Chicago is now accepting applications for the Emergency Heating Repair Program until April 1, 2024. The program offers income-eligible owner-occupants of 1-to-4-unit properties with emergency heating system replacements or repairs during the winter season. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. You can apply online or through calling 311.

CEDA LIHEAP
All income-eligible households can apply for LIHEAP to receive aid with heating and electric bills. Apply at www.CEDAorg.net/Bills or call (800) 571-2332. Applications are open until August 15, 2024, or until funds run out.

Rental Assistance Program
The City of Chicago's Rental Assistance Program is available to help Chicagoans who currently have housing, but who may become homeless soon because they lost income or had another eligible emergency which prevents them from paying rent. This program is welcome to all residents regardless of legal immigration status. Assistance may include payment of future rent, or rent arrears to prevent eviction or security deposits in cases of fire, flood, foreclosure, domestic violence, or eviction. You can learn more about RAP and apply here.
