Dear Neighbor,
Last week, my office’s annual winter clothing drive concluded with distributing coats and other warm clothing donations at the mutual aid giveaway at St. Nicolai United Church. My team and I were grateful to be a part of the clothing distribution as well as their grocery giveaway, serving over 100 families.
We collected and distributed hundreds of coats, scarves, gloves, and hats thanks to the generosity and support of so many across the 39th District. Thank you to every neighbor that stopped by our office or a partnering local business to drop off your donation.
I want to especially thank Aguijon Theater for their community’s very generous donation of coats and Senator Natalie Toro, Sipping Turtle Cafe, Brew Brew Coffee & Tea, The Brewed, and Hopewell Brewing Company for serving as drop-off locations.
Since May, our office has been a drop-off location for various donations to support our unhoused neighbors, new arrivals to Chicago, and others in need. With the close of this drive and the shift in new arrival necessities as folks are moving from police stations to shelters, our office will pause on collecting donations for the time being. We encourage neighbors looking to give to seek out community organizations like The Parlor as well as other donation drives throughout Chicago. This will be my last newsletter of the year. Thank you for being a collaborative and caring part of this community all through 2023. We look forward to continuing to provide you with information, resources, and legislative updates when we return in January.

Logan Square Chamber of Commerce’s Winter Bazaar
The Logan Square Chamber of Commerce’s Winter Bazaar will showcase local businesses at an indoor market on Saturdays through the end of February. The bazaar will run each week from 11am-2pm at the Hairpin Arts Center, 2810 N Milwaukee Ave., 2nd Floor.
