Dear Neighbor,
As the cold weather settles in, my office is excited to kick off our annual Winter Clothing Drive! This year, we are partnering with Senator Natalie Toro’s office, local mutual aid organizations, and small businesses to collect winter clothing to distribute to our neighbors in need.
We’re accepting donations of new or gently used winter gear through December 16. Items we’re collecting include:

🥾 Boots
🧣 Scarves
🧢 Hats
🧤 Gloves and Mittens
👶 And new diapers!
You can drop off donations at any of the following locations with marked donation boxes:

Thanksgiving Office Closure
Our office will be closed Wednesday, November 27 through Friday, November 29 in observance of Thanksgiving. We will re-open on Monday, December 2, from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. We wish you and yours a restful, reflective, and safe holiday. Thank you!
Car Insurance Town Hall
Are you paying too much for car insurance?
Join State Reps Will Guzzardi and Lilian Jimenez, the IL Coalition for Fair Car Insurance Rates, and Northwest Center for a Town Hall on legislative efforts to stop discriminatory car insurance practices!

Job Fair
In collaboration with Senator Toro’s office, we will be hosting a Job Fair at Portage-Cragin Library on Friday, December 6 from 10 AM - 2 PM. The fair will feature representatives from community organizations and state agencies seeking employees. Employers joining us at the fair include Access Living, Illinois Department of Employment Security, the Department of Children and Family Services, and the Illinois State Comptroller.
