🏡 Get Help with Your Property Tax Appeal!
Dear Neighbor,
Most of my legislative district is located in Jefferson Township, meaning that most of you probably received a letter in the mail about your property taxes recently. Every three years, our area is re-assessed, which might mean a sizable jump in your assessment.
I know this can be stressful news. But we’re here to help. If you believe your assessment is unfairly high, you can file an appeal to try to get it lowered. The deadline to appeal is November 13.
You can file your appeal in 1 of 3 ways:
File your appeal online by following the step-by-step application found here and watching the video here.
Schedule an appointment with the Assessor’s office.
Call the 8th District of Cook County office to set up an in-person appointment for appeal assistance at (312) 603-6386.
The office of Cook County Commissioner Anthony Quezada is also hosting several property tax appeal workshops for Jefferson Township. My office will be joining them at a workshop on Wednesday, October 23. Join us from 5:30 to 7:30pm at 2934 N Milwaukee Ave. Unit C. RSVPs for appointments are required.
We look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
All my best,
Will
