COVID-19 Updates and Resources
Dear friend,
As you may have already heard, beginning on Monday Mayor Lightfoot and Commissioner of Health for the City of Chicago, Dr. Arwady are advising all residents of Chicago to stay at home in response to the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the city. In addition, Chicagoans are urged to avoid having guests or family members in their home, cancel traditional Thanksgiving celebrations and avoid travel.
While this isn't news any of us want to hear during the holiday season it's important that we take heed of these new mitigation measures in order to keep our community safe. There are more than 160,000 new coronavirus cases in the US and more than 75,000 cases have emerged in the last week in Illinois.
It's yet another unexpected challenge in 2020. But we have much to be grateful for even during these difficult times. I hope you can find ways to connect with loved ones from afar over the Thanksgiving holiday, to share joys and hardships while making sure everyone stays safe and healthy. If you scroll down, you'll also find resources for testing, rental assistance, help paying utility bills, and grants to support small businesses.
Let's all do our part to keep ourselves, our friends, loved ones, and community safe.
Sincerely,
Will
