Help Keep Our Neighbors Warm This Winter🧣❄️
Dear Neighbor,
I hope you and your family had a warm and joyful holiday weekend. With the goal of trying to ensure that all of our neighbors can stay warm this winter, my office and local mutual aid networks are partnering on a Winter Clothing Drive, and we need your support!
To donate winter clothing to our drive, you can stop by my office or one of our three partnering coffee shops anytime before December 19th:
Sip of Hope Coffee - 3039 W Fullerton Ave.
Brew Brew Coffee & Tea - 3832 W Diversey Ave.
Sipping Turtle Cafe - 2959 N Milwaukee Ave.
Rep. Guzzardi's Office - 3458 N Cicero Ave.
We're accepting men’s, women's, and kids' clothing, although kids' winter clothing items are a higher priority. Please donate new or gently used items.
As of this year, there are an estimated 65,000 people who are homeless in Chicago. And with temperatures dropping and snow falling, I want to encourage all of us to do our part. If you aren’t able to donate to our clothing drive, you can spread the word about our winter clothing drive by sharing our Facebook and Twitter posts.
And of course, we know that no amount of individual generosity is going to solve the crisis of homelessness in our city. It’s a systemic problem, and it’s going to require a systemic solution. That’s why I’m proud to support the Bring Chicago Home campaign, which would levy a small tax on the sale of million-dollar homes and downtown skyscrapers to fund homelessness prevention and transitional housing. You can learn more about the campaign at www.bringchicagohome.org.
For more information on how to support our winter clothing drive, or for other resources to address homelessness, you can reach my office by phone or email at (773) 853-2570 and will@repguzzardi.com.
Thanks, be well and stay warm —
Will
