Has Your Car Insurance Gone Up? 🚘💸

Dear Neighbor,

As you may know, I’ve been working on legislation that would address the high cost of car insurance, especially for lower-income drivers, by requiring public review of premium increases and prohibiting the use of “non-driving factors” in rate-setting. You can read more about this issue here.

We need to hear how these issues are impacting real people like you! Have your car insurance premiums gone way up? Even if you've been a safe driver? As part of this work, the Illinois Coalition for Fair Car Insurance Rates is collecting stories to share with legislators, reporters, and other leaders working on protections from unfair discrimination and excessive car insurance rates.

If you have a story about these unfair and excessive car insurance rates, please share your experience by filling out this form

Policymakers like to think that we make decisions based on facts and rational argument. But for better or for worse, it’s often human stories that move us to action more than anything. So if you’re willing to share yours, you could have a big impact in persuading my colleagues to get on board with much-needed reforms.

All my best,
Will
