2020 Census Update
Dear Neighbor,
The census is an incredibly important tool for shaping the future of our communities. Unfortunately, our legislative district has one of the lowest completion rates in Illinois so far. It's time for us to step it up! Learn about how to fill out the census online (it takes two minutes!), and please share this information with your friends and neighbors. Let's stand up and be counted!
Sincerely,
- Will

What is the 2020 Census?
Why Does it Matter?
The Census serves two primary purposes. One is for the allocation of money to cities and states. The other is for the allocation of political power. Both depend entirely on how many people complete the Census in each city in every state.
An accurate Census count helps allocate thousands of dollars in funding for your community over the next decade. That's funding for programs that educate, cure, house, feed, and protect your family and friends. The Census takes place just once every 10 years, so it's vital to participate.
Who Counts?
Everyone living in the United States can be counted in the Census, irrespective of your immigration status.
Despite some initial fear-mongering by the Trump Administration, there is no question about citizenship on the 2020 Census, and no information in the Census can be provided to law enforcement agencies.
