♻️📄 Free Shredding & Recycling Event on March 29!
Dear Neighbor,
Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time for some spring cleaning. My office is joining State Rep. Jaime Andrade for a Green Shredding and Recycling Event on Saturday, March 29 from 9am to 11:30am (or until trucks reach capacity!) We’ll be at NEIU El Centro, 3390 N. Avondale Ave. with the following FREE services:
📃Paper Shredding: Safely dispose of sensitive documents, like old bank statements, tax returns, bills, receipts, and outdated medical records to protect against identity theft. Please remove all paper clips, staples, and other bindings that could obstruct the shredder.
📺Electronics Recycling: Limit TWO TVs per vehicle, monitors, computers, laptops, motherboards, printers, cell phones, game consoles, toasters, blenders, etc. Please NO A/C UNITS.
💊Medication Take Back: Collection is anonymous. Pills only (unwanted/expired human and pet medication). Can be in prescription bottles or unmarked plastic bags. Please NO LIQUIDS OR SHARPS.
👕Clothing and Shoe Collection: Cradles to Crayons will be collecting clothing and shoes of all sizes to be redistributed to community families in need or recycled through Chicago Textile Recycling. Visit bit.ly/c2cdonationitems for a list of acceptable items.
🖌️Household Paint Disposal: This is new service! Household oil and latex paint will be accepted for safe disposal. Please note, commercial businesses are not eligible.
